Our films won both gold and silver in the annual Sterk Reklame Awards.

These last months have been all work and no play, so it’s nice to be forced to get drunk once in a while :) In the picture it totally looks like Øystein was there partying with us. Due to an ongoing shoot, he wasn’t. I’ve actually photoshopped him in with me on top of Aasmunds face. Stay tuned for a tutorial!

Helmet had two submissions in the commercials category, and were awarded the following:

Gold
250 Stores for Cinderella
Client: HK/Midtbyen

Silver & Diploma
Baking Powder Experiments
Client: Tibe-T

Back in september we showed you the first of four posters created for shoe store DNA/ad agency GRIFF, featuring a girl shopping for shoes on her holoscreen in an utopian sci-fi world. The follow-ups adhere to normal disaster-movie rules: Shit hits the fan but everything works out before Christmas.

Keep scrolling to see them all in glorious high res!

Reviving magical hazelnuts from 1969.

Finally it’s Christmas and we can show off our latest gem!

The film plays off the much loved 1969 original “Tři oříšky pro Popelku” (Three wishes for cinderella / Tre nøtter til askepott), which has become THE Christmas tradition here in Norway. In this film she is out shopping in Trondheim, paying with her magical hazelnuts that transform into “MIDTBYSJEKKEN” gift cards.

We decided to shoot the transformation scenes without the actual gift card, so we would have more freedom when compositing them in later. This turned out to be a stroke of genius, because the cards were changed right after the shoot. The new card was tracked into each shot, and the transformation effect was made to match the simple yet adorable effect in the original.

This is a film we made for Sparebank 1. The film promotes their non-commercial initiatives that support small and big organizations across Norway, as well as their strengths as one of the biggest banks in Norway. The bank gave us a selection of words they wanted to communicate clearly. We motion-tracked these into shots designed to enhance the meaning and interpretation of each word.

Not long after our first waterhorse was printed, client Powel and agency Tibe-T came back for more. For the second version to be equally successful we had to take it to the next level. By carefully sculpting tons of splash reference to match the shape of our horse, HELMET managed to create an even more powelful version.

This is a film we made for Sparebank1 and their design-your-own-visa campaign. We picked up some good looking people from the street and gave them green plastic cards which we later tracked and replaced with motion graphics, courtesy of Jonny Snorkel.

For this ad/musicvideo Helmet street-cast 15 wildly different characters and stuck them all in a room to play the Enova song. A version of the song was allready prepared before the shoot, but was then scrapped as we decided to just go with the flow on set. A huge thanks goes out the incredible people who helped make this one-take-wonder happen.

This is the first of four posters created for shoe store DNA/ad agency GRIFF and their new print campaign. Working closely with photographer Geir Mogen, HELMET concieved and crafted this utopian shoe-shopping experience. The next three will follow closely and feature darker, more dramatic scenarios.

The posters were intended to be used in Norway only, but after seeing the final result our client decided there was more than enough awesomeness to go around. You can now find them in over 70 DNA stores across Scandinavia.
